SIEVA : Digital To Physical Making
END PRODUCT: A trinket shelf for those who have more doohickeys than they know what to do with—curated by someone who definitely has too many of their own. Shaped like a bean, it’s the perfect home for all those little treasures that just keep multiplying. Because sometimes, a doohickey needs a proper place to sit.
The Process of Making:
By manipulating a sphere in Rino the kidney bean inspired shape was created. Using Grasshopper, I was able to turn the shape into shelves.
The pieces were then arranged into a cut plan to send to the CNC for to mill.
Form Studies Using 3D Printing, Plaster Casting, and Laser Cutting
Before the shelves came the 3D prints, the plaster casted parts, and experimenting with laser cutting the infill of the shape.
